Damselfishes

Yellow tail Blue Damsel  domino damsel
3 stripe Damsel  blue green Chromis Damsel

As striking as they are...

Damselfish can often become fin nippers and grow to be very territorial.   Damsels are great to start up the nitrogen cycling process in new systems,  but we recommend they be removed after cycling.  One possible exception to this rule are  the blue/green chromis damsels. (bottom right)

Otherwise, they can be mixed in all their vivid colors of blue, black, yellow and green hues and patterns.  They make beautiful displays when kept in larger schools.   Then ...  Its "the fittest of the fittest" so to speak.

Don't be afraid to try larger schools of damselfish with several "Specimen" fishes as well as some tough clowns.

They can be dazzling in a reef system!
